Three rooms, a terrace over the water and a private jetty. Ion, the host, takes you by boat along the canals, fishing and to see the pelicans, and Maria cooks the fish caught that same day.

The hosts

The hosts: a family of fishermen

Ion has fished these canals for 30 years and knows where the pelicans are every month. The house belonged to his parents; we restored it keeping the reed roof and the clay walls.

Maria cooks fish soup to the family recipe, with vegetables from the garden behind the house. What we do not catch, we buy from the neighbouring fishermen.

We set off from the jetty in a boat with a quiet engine. On the way we switch it off and row closer to the pelicans and herons.

Fishing

A day of fishing with a local

Ion takes you to his spots for carp, pike and zander and lends you the rods. Maria cooks your catch in the evening.

In spring, during the closed season, fishing is not allowed; at that time we only run boat trips.

Breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are served on the terrace and should be ordered in the morning.

Getting here

The house cannot be reached by car. We pick you up by speedboat from Tulcea harbour, and you leave the car in a guarded car park.
